'Doom' might have been a heck of the video game back in the day, but the movie was an absolute bomb. Released in 2005, it starred Dwayne Johnson, Karl Urban and Rosamund Pike in key roles and was directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak based on the game of the same name. The movie follows a group of marines dispatched on a rescue mission to a facility on Mars, where they encounter genetically engineered, mutated creatures.

'Doom' failed miserably at the box office making $58.8 million worldwide against a production budget that ranged between $60-70 million. Rotten Tomatoes has a 19% rating with the audience score touching 34%. The critical consensus reads, "The FPS sections are sure to please fans of the video game, but lacking in plot and originality to please other moviegoers."

Hosting June 8 episode of 'The Titan Games' Season 2 on NBC, he told fellow hosts Cari Champion and Alex "Golden Boy" Mendez that this installment of the reality game series was all about redemption. To better explain the concept, Johnson brought up 'Doom,' while the women competitors Claressa Shields, Jaime Seeman, and Chantae McMillan were gearing up for 'Hammer Down.'

"Have you watched my movie 'Doom'? he asked, to which Champion replied "No, I haven't" while Mendez too said he hadn't. "Exactly, nobody did. Since then my career has been redeemed," he said with a chuckle. 'Doom' was a dud, but that didn't stop Johnson from going and deliver some stellar, moolah-raking blockbusters over the years. Meanwhile, 'Doom' saw a reboot in 2019 titled, 'Doom: Annihilation' by Universal was released direct-to-video. The film fared a lot better, earning a 50% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

As far as 'The Titan Games' Season 2 Central Region Final results go, Dani Speegle retained her Titan title while Joe Thomas lost to Matt Chan who made a stunning comeback beating fellow competitors, Kaleb Redden and Steven Shelby.

'The Titan Games' Season 2 airs on Mondays at 8 pm ET on NBC.
