'The Third Day' Episode 6: Naomie Harris' performance in devastating finale makes fans ask for Season 2

The finale of the HBO limited series answered many questions that had been lingering around since Day 1

When 'The Third Day' premiered on HBO, viewers weren't quite sure what to make of it. It seemed to be an odd mix of thriller and mystery as it packed a very unusual story about grief. Osea Island was a mysterious place with its own set of (weird) customs and culture that sucked its visitors in. Starring Jude Law as Sam and Naomie Harris as Helen in two different chapters over the course of the six episodes, 'The Third Day' follows these two parents as they (try to) come to terms with their grief in their own way.

But with each passing episode, 'The Third Day' impressed its viewers. Its unique take on grief and sorrow stayed with its audience making a mark on their minds. But it is the finale episode that aired earlier tonight that left fans absolutely speechless. "Speechless. The show was absolutely terrifying at every turn, yet, utterly beautiful with each frame... I want to visit Osea but then again I really don’t!! #TheThirdDay #thethirddayhbo" tweeted a fan.

Praises for the episode directed by Philippa Lowthorpe and written by Kit de Waal, Dean O'Loughlin, and creator Dennis Kelly aren't going to stop pouring in anytime soon. "I just watched #TheThirdDay HBO Series #Finale Episode 6 'Last Day - The Dark' — So much action and suspense — it didn't disappoint — the whole series was fabulous," said another fan. "Just finished #TheThirdDay and wow, what a show. Kept me at a distance the first couple episodes but then completely sucked me in. I love a show that makes you think it’s about one thing by then ends up being something totally different," added another. 

The finale of the HBO limited series answered many questions that had been lingering around since Day 1. But most importantly, it tells Helen's heartbreaking efforts at escaping the hellhole her husband dragged her and her children in. "I'm actually crying because I know I would do the same as Helen. Fans of the show couldn't help but praise the actors, particularly Nico Parker who plays the role of Ellie, Helen and Sam's middle daughter. "Absolutely amazing, heartbreaking, devastating, and heartening all at the same time. @NaomieHarris broke me. The girls broke me — @thandienewton, your daughter is amazing. #TheThirdDay #NaomieHarris #JudeLaw #TheDark."

And now it is evident that the show will remain with the audience for a long time now. "#NaomiHarris is a brilliant actress and she delivered it all in the #TheThirdDay finale. It was a heartbreaking story about grief, guilt and divorce. It's beautifully shot. Beautifully acted. Congrats to the cast and the crew. I will be thinking about this show for a long time."

So much so that many eagerly wait for news of a second season even though most loose ends were tied up. "#TheThirdDay finale was amazing, but I need to know what happens next!
