On Tuesday’s episode of the Daytime Emmy-winning CBS talk show ‘The Talk’, co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, rapper Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba and Marie Osmond spoke about pop star Justin Bieber and his past drug use.

In his YouTube original docu-series ‘Seasons’, Bieber opened up about how his addiction left him close to dying. In the latest episode titled ‘The Dark Season’, Bieber recalled smoking pot for the first time when he was 12 or 13. He also spoke about “popping pills” and “sipping lean” while adults around him ignored his behavior.

“It was just an escape for me. I was young, like everybody in the industry, or in the world, who experiment. But my experience was in front of cameras and I had a different level of exposure. I had a lot of money and a lot of things, so then you have all these people around me hanging on and wanting stuff from me, knowing I was living this lifestyle that they also wanted to live,” said the 25-year-old ‘Yummy’ star.

He added, “I decided to stop because I was like, dying. My security were coming into the room at night to check my pulse. People don't know how serious it got. It was legit crazy-scary.”

On ‘The Talk’, co-host Sharon Osbourne weighed in, “I was really surprised when I heard. His manager, Scooter [Braun], said that he had a drug problem. I’ve shared this story before on the show. His manager came up to me and said why are you so hard on him? He has a problem with drugs and I’m like get out of here, no way. I just thought he was a little precocious teenager that needed a slap on the bum and it was much more than that and I was shocked. And I don’t know why!”

Osbourne further said, “Even when he talks about it, I just find it hard to think of him doing anything like that… I suppose because he wasn’t like a wild rocker-type. I don’t know -- because he sings pop songs? You don’t have to be a certain type to be an addict. I think he’s (an) extremely brave young man. He seems to be doing a lot of work on himself.”

Eve added, “I was so happy to hear him say -- and for him to be so young. Because those kinds of words of doing the work; I only started using that -- those types of words -- in my late-thirties… So, him saying that to all his young fans; I am so happy he put that part out there as well. Because that’s important.”

'The Talk' airs Monday through Friday at 11 am PT.
