'The Soup': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about the E! curated show starring Jade Catta-Preta
A different take on already controversial content is the need-of-the-hour because most have gone on random breaks and some are relying on reruns. But not E!-backed 'The Soup' that is all set to return with fresh set of episodes.
Release Date
'The Soup' airs on E! on July 8 at 10/11 c.
Plot
The premise is simple. Each week host-comedian Jade Catta-Preta will recap popular TV moments for viewers. For the uninitiated, this is the reimagined version of Joel McHale's 'The Soup,' which, in Jade's words, was "Bro-y."
Cast
When the show first returned earlier this year on February 12, Jade was quoted by E! as saying: "It's our time, it's time for a female voice. It's time for someone to curate all the stuff that's out there and it's just time to bring it back. I think we need it." Clearly, Jade has been thrilled about hosting the show and bringing her own comic flavors to it, and in all honesty, it's quite the fresh and real twist.
What makes 'The Soup' different? Jade's background as an immigrant and how she uses that to deliver a different perspective while keeping the humor alive is something unique and doesn't conform to your regular TV content. This alone makes 'The Soup' worth every viewers' time.
Trailer
Watch the trailer here, in which she talks about 'Vanderpump Rules' and 'Shahs of Sunset.' Meanwhile, fans cannot wait for the episodes to air and some of them have even sent in their suggestions of shows they'd want 'The Soup' to cover. 'Married At First Sight,' 'Floor Is Lava,' 'Lenox Hill' and '90 Days Fiance' are some of the names that have come in.
Showrunners
Serving as executive producer is Sue Murphy.
