'The Sleepover' follows the Finch family where the kids find out a secret about their mother and spend much of their time saving their parents. The comedy-drama airs on Netflix this late August and is supposedly filled with action-packed hilarity. Here is what we know of the upcoming release.

'The Sleepover' releases on August 21, 2020.

Plot

The synopsis reads, "In this family adventure-comedy, Clancy (Sadie Stanley) and her kid brother Kevin (Maxwell Simkins) discover that their seemingly normal stay-at-home mom Margot (Malin Åkerman) is actually a former high-end thief in the witness protection program. When both their mom and dad (Ken Marino) are kidnapped and forced to pull one last job with an ex-flame of Margot’s (Joe Manganiello), the siblings must team up to rescue their parents over the course of one action-packed night that they’ll never forget. 'The Sleepover' is directed by Trish Sie ('Pitch Perfect 3')."

Akerman is known for her roles as Laurie Jupiter in 'Watchmen' (2009), Nancy in 'The Final Girls' (2015), Annie in 'Happythankyoumoreplease' (2010), and Tess in '27 Dresses' (2008).

Stanley is known for her roles as Kim Possible in the TV Movie of the same name in 2019, Tracey Kruger from 'Coop and Cami Ask the World' (2019), Parker in 'Dead to Me' (2020) and Brea Bee in 'The Goldbergs' (2020). She has one other release in post-production titled 'Let Us In' where she plays the role of Jessie.

Other members of the cast include Joe Manganiello, Cree Cicchino, Karla Souza, Ken Marino as Glen, Enuka Okuma, Janelle Feigley, Erik Griffin, Lucas Jaye and many more.

The movie is directed by Trish Sie with Sarah Rothschild serving as a writer. Michael Glassman, Scott Holroyd, Alison Semenza King, Alison Semenza, and Nicole Stojkovich serve as executive producers. Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, and Pete Shilaimon serve as producers.
