'The Simpsons' Season 31 will premiere on Fox on September 29, and here's everything you need to know

America's favorite eight-fingered, yellow-skinned, nuclear family is returning to our screens, and we can't wait to get back to our regular Sunday night routine of watching 'The Simpsons'. 

What is even more exciting is that this season also promises a slew of famed guest stars who are set to appear on the show. With less than a month left for the premiere, here's everything you need to know about the forthcoming season 31 of 'The Simpsons'. 

Release date

'The Simpsons' season 31 will premiere on Fox on September 29, 2019.

Plot

The animated sitcom is a satirical representation of working-class life portrayed by the Simpson family. The family consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The series is set in a fictional town of Springfield. It features parodies of American culture, society, television, and human condition. 

Cast

'The Simpsons' predominantly has six main voice actors: Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, and Harry Shearer. 

Dan Castellaneta voices Homer Simpson, Grampa Simpson, Krusty the Clown, Groundskeeper Willie, Mayor Quimby, Barney Gumble, and other grownup male characters. 

Julie Kavner voices Marge Simpson and Patty and Selma, and other minor characters.

Nancy Cartwright voices Bart Simpson, Nelson Muntz, Ralph Wiggum, and other children. 

Yeardley Smith voices only Lisa Simpson and occasionally other characters who appear in the episode. 

A number of guest stars are set to make a guest appearance on the show this season including: John Mulaney, John Legend, Chrissy Tiegen, Jane Goodall and Olivia Colman.

Creator 

Matt Groening

Matt Groening is a cartoonist, writer, producer, animator, and voice actor. He is known for his creation of the comic strip Life in Hell and the television series The Simpsons, Futurama, and Disenchantment. Groening has won 12 Primetime Emmy Awards, 10 for The Simpsons and two for Futurama. He also received his Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2012, on February 14.
