'The Righteous Gemstones' Episode 6 sees Judy finally taking things into her own hand and allying herself with Baby Billy

'The Righteous Gemstones' episode 6 sees Judy get manipulated by Baby Billy to confront her father for not giving her the same opportunities as her brothers.

'The Righteous Gemstones' episode 6 sees Baby Billy (Walton Goggins) find an opportunity to exact revenge from Eli Gemstone (John Goodman) for stealing his sister Aimee Leigh (Jennifer Nettles) all those years ago from him and thereby putting an end to a great musical duo. Baby Billy by himself was not the same as when he performed with his sister and this definitely took a chunk out of his already dwindling finances. By returning to the Gemstone fold, Baby Billy is not seeking redemption but finding a way to hurt Eli where it matters most -- Eli's weakness for his family.

During a golf game with Judy (Edi Patterson) and Eli among others, Baby Billy asks Eli why he hasn't given Judy a bigger role in the family business as compared to her running errands with Martin. Judy, who always wanted to be treated the same as her brothers and given the same choices as them, also wonders out loud why she never got a chance to prove herself or her capability. Sensing a disturbance he could use for his gain, Baby Billy asks Judy to take things into her hand and asks her to perform for him. He says he wants to make sure that when the time comes, she is prepared enough to challenge her father for a bigger role. Only, Judy's performance reminds Baby Billy of his late sister and her talent and he senses a bigger opportunity. He pushes her to perform with him during the upcoming meet.

However, before she does the same, Judy decides to confront her father in the presence of Martin and her brother Kelvin (Adam Devine). This time, she asks her father why he doesn't give her more work, or put her in the spotlight even once. Kelvin does what he does best, which is annoy his sister enough to get a rise out of her. She goes to the extent of attacking him physically in their father's office and Eli shuts her down for being an irresponsible hothead. He also cites this as the reason as to why he doesn't give her important work. She wants to hurt her father and her way of doing so is telling him that she would be performing with Baby Billy and she slams the door when she walks out, not once but thrice for dramatic effect.

Eli is not going to take this sitting down and he heads out to confront Baby Billy about using his daughter to get at him. Baby Billy doesn't budge, however, and turns out that was for the best. In Judy, Eli clearly sees his wife, Aimee, and a smile blooms on his face. Even as he sees Judy perform 'Misbehaving' with Baby Billy, all that Eli sees is his late wife. Does that mean he will now include Judy is his plans and give her the spotlight that she so desperately craves? We will have to wait and watch.

On the other hand, Jesse has got his hands on the truck of the blackmailer and he considers it a big win. He even calls Judy and Kelvin over to gloat because this means victory. With the help of Jesse's men, they rummage through Scotty's (Scott MacArthur) belongings but come up with nothing in connection to Gideon (Skyler Gisondo), which leaves Jesse clueless about his son's involvement in blackmailing yet again. However, things may not stay the same as Gideon's friend Scotty turns up at his door playing the friend card. Does he expect to cheat the Gemstones out of their earnings while he is at it?

The next episode of 'The Righteous Gemstones' will air on Sunday at 10 pm ET on HBO.
