'The Rev' Finale: Jordan Hartley impresses Richard Hartley with his 'surprise' performance in musical face-off
Pastor Richard Hartley might soon be usurped from his position as the musician of the Hartley family. 'The Rev' star's son Jordan Hartley left everyone awestruck with his musical prowess on the finale episode of Season 1.
Although Jordan has been vocal about his interest in music and pursuing a career in the music industry, as his father once mentioned, nobody can hear Jordan's music. Richard was done waiting around for his son to be ready to showcase his work to the world. So, he came up with a plan to get his son to perform in public — a musical faceoff. Richard knew that Jordan was an extremely competitive person, so he challenged him to a faceoff with hopes of appealing to his competitive side.

Jordan agreed to it and immediately got to work on it. When it was finally the day of their faceoff, they roped in four judges — two veteran musicians and two millennials. Richard went on the stage first and gave his performance while his wife Stacey served as his backup singer. Following his performance, Jordan took to the drums while his sister Judea Hartley sang.
Both performances were good, but the judges seemed to enjoy Jordan's performance better, as his beats on the drum were impeccable. However, they were scared of telling the pastor that his son was better than him, so instead they resorted to creating multiple categories for assessing the performances, and began pointing out the strengths of both performers.
When Richard finally demanded to know if Jordan managed to hold up against him, the judges agreed and said that the youngster was good. Richard then congratulated Jordan and showered his son with praises. Jordan decided to pull his father's leg and teased him for doubting his abilities.
