Queen desperately trying to keep royal family united, frequently visits Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Frogmore Cottage
In a desperate bid to reunite the royal family, the Queen of England is reportedly helping out Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to cope with the pressures of royal life.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be spending Christmas with the rest of the royals at Sandringham, Buckingham Palace recently announced, thereby sparking speculations of tension in the family.
But the Sussexes reportedly have the "full support" of the monarch to spend Christmas with Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, just as Harry's brother Williams and wife Kate previously chose to spend the festival with her parents in Berkshire.
The Queen is desperately trying to bring the family back together, it has been claimed, although some have deemed the move as a "snub" by her grandson and his wife.
According to The Daily Express, the Queen is trying to guide them through their recent difficulties with media coverage and makes sure to visit them at Frogmore Cottage whenever she goes to neighboring Windsor Castle.
While the Queen does not agree with some of their decisions about press coverage, per the newspaper, she is trying to help heal rifts within the family.
"Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the duchess's mother Doria Ragland," a spokesman for the Sussexes said. "This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty the Queen."
"For security reasons, we will not be providing further details on their schedule at this time," he added.
The couple's decision to miss the Royal Family's traditional Christmas celebrations was in no way a "snub", the Palace stressed.
"The duke and duchess see a lot of the Queen as they now live at Windsor," an aide insisted. "That's why they didn't go to Scotland this summer and why the Queen is supportive of their decision about Christmas."
The royal couple is set to spend a quiet Christmas with Miss Ragland at their new Windsor home for the first time. However, they might also choose to go abroad, maybe to Africa, which Prince Harry considers his "second home."
