King is also the executive producer of the film alongside Guy Riedel.

The much awaited feminist-action dramedy film ‘The Princess’ is releasing globally on July 1, 2022 at 3.01 am EST on Hulu.

What is the plot of ‘The Princess’?

‘The Princess’ is a totally out-of-the-box and unconventional modern-day spin on fairytale romances. The story revolves around a princess who is about to be wed to a psychotic tyrant ruler Julius (Dominic Cooper). Julius is determined to lay claim on the princess’s father’s throne and has evil plans to usurp it. We also see well-choreographed action scenes being performed effortlessly by Joey King which is a fresh zing into classical fairytale tropes.

The trailer shows brief glimpses of the princess being locked away in a remote part of the tower by her father. We see glimpses of her fighting the villains, captors and other enemies to safeguard her father’s kingdom and throne. The princess alongside her bodyguard takes matters into their own hands. They both are seen slashing down the villains swiftly.

The official synopsis reads, “When a beautiful, strong-willed princess refuses to wed the cruel sociopath to whom she is betrothed, she is kidnapped and locked in a remote tower of her father’s castle. With her scorned, vindictive suitor intent on taking her father’s throne, the princess must protect her family and save the kingdom. Stream The Princess July 1 on Hulu”.
