After a very long, almost excruciating wait, Season 3 of 'The Outpost' is finally coming to the CW. The instalment was announced on October 15, 2019, and the show was initially set to premiere in the Summer of 2020. But the pandemic has not been easy on anyone and we all have collectively lost some months as a result of staying in an staying safe. The television industry was also among those who took a hit, as many shows and films halted production and 'The Outpost' was no exception. After completing only the first five episodes of the third season, the show took a break. Finally, in May 2020, production was able to resume and the show is all set to make a Fall 2020 premiere on October 8, 2020.

But the wait is going to be very much worth it because 'The Outpost' is packing in a lot more than its previous offerings. Season 3 has the largest episode order to date (26 episodes) compared to the previous seasons' 12 and 13 episode orders. In Season 3, the story picks up from where it left off at the end of Season 2 -- right in the middle of betrayal and heartbreak.

Talon (Jessica Green), at the end of the previous season, summoned Zed (Reece Ritchie) and his Blackblood comrades to save the Outpost as a last, desperate hope to save things. But she finds herself betrayed in the end. Taking it as a loss (but never forgetting), she struggles to reconcile her human friends and her Blackblood heritage. The "demonic" Lu-Qiri providing the muscle to see Zed's masterplan to fulfillment, the Outpost's human inhabitants are enslaved as miners in order to search for a mysterious substance to solve a dark riddle.

Elsewhere, Gwynn (Imogen Waterhouse) is put under house arrest. The princess has been through a lot, but it is now her time to take what's hers back and defeat those who wronged her. She begins to plot her escape to overthrow these new enemies.

According to the official synopsis of the season, "To save her beloved Garret (Jake Stormoen), Talon is forced to summon a Blackblood Priestess named Yavalla (Jaye Griffiths) into the world. Yavalla prophesies of a paradise for Blackbloods, and an era of peace for the world, but she soon discovers a power that threatens every living creature. As Gwynn and Tobin (Aaron Fontaine) become Yvalla’s unwilling allies, Talon and her friends must fight, suffer, and sacrifice their way to save each other and vanquish their new enemies."

Season 3 is about the Outpost coming uniting with new forces to take their new enemies down. At the same time, Talon's struggles with her past continue. She begins to discover more information about her lost family from Yavalla (Jaye Griffiths). She knows that figuring out the connection between her past and the powers she possesses are the only ways to defend good from evil. Yavalla's information needs to be chosen through and she must sift the truths from the lies, and solve the mystery of her heritage and forgotten power. Talon must do all this before the world as she knows it becomes enslaved to a new power that could consume every living being in its way and leave no room for return.

The returning season has the biggest main cast to date with ten members. Season 3 also introduces newcomers Georgia May Foote, Izuka Hoyle, Griffiths, and the upping of Adam Johnson from recurring cast member to main cast member.

The premiere episode of Season 3 of 'The Outpost' will air on The CW on October 8, at 9/8c.
