'The Outpost' Season 3 Episode 5 Preview: The Gallwood Outpost is 'under Yavalla's control'
The Gallwood Outpost finds itself in deep trouble with every passing episode. Contrary to what the Blackbloods had claimed, they are not all peaceful beings. After Talon (Jessica Green) summoned them to help in the war against the Prime Order, the group took over the Outpost and has since held the entire place captive. All complete with the Queen under house arrest. Small tensions aside, Queen Gwynn (Imogen Waterhouse) had somehow managed to send Tobin (Aaron Fontaine) and Munt (Adam Johnson) back to Aegisford in order to gather an army. Once there, they found a decrepit army and had to look to Tobin's ex-lover Falista (Georgia May Foote) for help. In the process, Tobin ends up making decisions that will hamper any possibility of a future with the Queen. Perhaps this is the so-called "secret" that the makers tease in the next episode.
According to the official synopsis of the upcoming episode, "Tobin returns to the outpost with an army -- and a secret; Talon presses for answers and a fight ensues."
The episode is titled 'Under Yavalla's Control', and given the previous episode, there's no guessing where this is headed. Yavalla's (Jaye Griffiths) newly-acquired kinj gives her the power to form hives and control multiple minds at once. This kinj can be easily passed on from one person to the other - like how Gwynn passed it on to Sammy (James Downie), and he to some stranger on the streets.
The title teases that gradually, the entire Outpost will be under Yavalla's spell. This isn't good news because we knew from the very get-go, since her first appearance on the show, that she isn't one to be trusted. Her demeanour combined with constant promises of a peaceful future between humans and Blackbloods together was too good to be true. And so we have it here - just as we had predicted.
With 'Under Yavalla's Control', the lone surviving High Priestess of the Blackbloods threatens to take over the human colony. But there might be, after all, hope for Gallwood Outpost in Talon. The synopsis suggests that a fight will ensue following Talon's investigations. Will this mean the end of Yavalla's chapter?
