Spoilers for 'The Nurse' Episode 2 ahead.

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK: The second episode of the Danish series ‘The Nurse’ titled ‘The Dream Team’ has no team left by the end. Pernille is now suspicious of Chritsina’s actions in the emergency ward at the Nykobing Falster Hospital and since the death of three patients in one night, Pernille is almost certain that Christina is behind all these unnatural deaths.

The term ‘Dream Team’ was coined by Christina to keep Pernille close to her and make her fond of all that she does. In a way, Christina wanted Pernille to adore and accept her so that she can keep living up to the image of the girl who "everyone likes" at the hospital. It’s hard for Christina to stay away from the limelight. So when Pernille decides to remove herself from the night shifts with Christina, things take a turn for the worse, especially for Pernille, whose suspicion slowly inches towards a confirmation.

'The Nurse' on Netflix: The harrowing true story behind Danish crime thriller

The first cut is the deepest

Pernille attends to a patient in the presence of Christina. While in the act, a spurt of blood splashes on Pernille’s face and she quickly cleans it off. In the nurse's ward, Christina narrates the same incident to the rest of the nurses as if it happened to her. Pernille hears this and is instantly taken aback by Christina’s story of lies. But that is not all. Christina lies about her accident but Pernille checks her car out and doesn’t find any evidence that supports Christina’s story.

These string of lies allows Pernille to doubt Christina’s words. She now believes that there is more to Christina than what she portrays. Her trust in Christina is shattered and Pernille decides to withdraw from the night shift. This turns out to be her biggest mistake so far — leaving Christina all by herself to commit horrific acts, which Pernille now decides to uncover before everyone.

This comes across as another cunning tactic of Christina to bring Pernille back to her life and into the night shift. It was almost as if Christina felt betrayed by Pernille leaving the night shift and wanted to teach Pernille a lesson.

Pernille exposes Christina

Pernille was highly skeptical about discussing Christina with anyone but she did rush to a fellow nurse named Katja who sees herself as someone who strays away from gossip. When Pernille finds a diary of patients who died under Christina’s care, she decides to let Katja know and vows to get to the bottom of it all. Will Pernille be successful in her pursuit?

The Nurse is available to stream on Netflix
