In the first season of ‘The Morning Show’ we saw Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) going all guns blazing against Fred (Tom Irwin). She, along with Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon), exposed how the CEO of UBA used to sexually abuse the female employees of the company.

During the final moments of the first edition, Alex (Aniston) also revealed that the management knew about Fred’s (Tom Irwin) sexual misconduct and chose to ignore it. The first season ended with their feed being cut off as they were taken off-air. Now, the best thing about Season 2 is that it gives us a glimpse as to what exactly happened after the feed was cut. Alex and Bradley are freaking out about what just happened. The entire organization is on the verge of collapsing and everybody is shocked to hear everything about Fred and the company.

Some of Alex’s staff barge inside the room where she’s talking with Bradley and take all her stuff. They take her out of the building as this is the last time Alex was seen inside the building of UBA. Three months have gone by and now Alex is writing a book. Meanwhile, Cory Ellison (Billy Crudup) has been summoned by the management with everything that took place on the last day of Alex. The management said that they are not going to fire Fred because they are going to investigate the allegations first. But, the only one, other than Fred, who knew about abuse was Hannah (Gugu Mbatah-Raw) and she died at the end of Season 1.

Cory is trying to bring UBA back on track as Bradley is now hosting The Morning Show with the new co-host Eric (Hasan Minhaj). The duo was seen dancing and singing on the eve of New Year and was going to present the New Year Special from Times Square. In the background, we see how Bradley is desperately trying to move away from the morning show and take the evening slot. But, a lot of people in the management feel that she is not fit for it. There are a lot of people they are considering for the role during The Morning Show, and Cory floats the idea of bringing Alex back. Some of the members are okay with that, but some are not. However, Alex has already made up her mind that she won’t be returning.

During the New Year special, Eric tells Bradley that he has been moved to the evening slot. This prompts Bradley to confront Cory and tell him how shitty he is. Meanwhile, Cory left a message on Alex’s voicemail which forces her to call Cory and accept the offer. But, when it felt everything has fallen into place for UBA, we get to know that Hannah’s family has filed a “lawsuit” against the company and they seek justice.

Cory is devastated to learn the new advancement as the episode came to an end. The UBA is going to feel the heat when the news gathers steam in the media. Other new channels and media outlets will surely pick on them after what happened the other day. It can also jeopardize the return of Alex because many will feel that this could be a result of what Alex did on live air that day.

The episode is a little slow and it takes some time to pick up the pace, but it gives a good insight into what’s been happening in everyone’s life after it all went down. It’ll be interesting to see how UBA handles the case and how Alex makes an entry into the new organization.
