Netflix's 'The Midnight Gospel' is set to be the streaming site's best animated offering to date. The series focuses on Clancy (voiced by co-creator Duncan Trussell), a spacecaster who travels from one planet to the other interviewing beings about subjects ranging from drugs, magic and forgiveness to meditation practices, life philosophies and death.

By definition, the show is an extension of Trussel's very popular podcast 'Duncan Trussell Family Hour', where Trussel discusses the aforementioned topics with people from different backgrounds. Only the Netflix series is accompanied by some mindblowing animation by Titmouse.

Within hours of release, the show has made fans immensely happy in dire times like these.

"Midnight Gospel is weird and wholesome as f**k and I recommend you watch it," tweeted a fan. "The Midnight Gospel is just podcast that have been animated in a really trippy interesting way and I really fucking enjoy it," tweeted another. "Just watched the first episode of midnight gospel and yeah it’s a great show," concurred another fan.

The animated extension of Trussell's podcast offers in-depth analysis of some of the most complex queries humans have in a neatly packed, beautiful, mesmerizing structure that will leave audience inspired, to say the least. "The Midnight Gospel' is so thought-provoking and pretty and I love it!! cannot wait to watch it with more people," said a viewer.

"'The Midnight Gospel' is so fucking good and the animation is insane too I love everything," tweeted an overwhelmed fan.

The eight episodes set you on a delightful journey that doesn't cease to exist at the end of it. The bizarre, hypnotic world created by Ward, Trussell and Titmouse is warm, welcoming for one and all — a safe space where no thought, no idea is the wrong idea.

"It made me feel so cosy and peaceful even despite zombie apocalypses and strange culty meat people, truly a delight," tweeted a fan. "The Midnight Gospel is wild. a positive non-nihilistic sci-fi show feels increasingly rare these days," added a fan.

The show — with a wondrous animation paired with intense discussions — might be heavy for some to consume in one day, as we had earlier mentioned, especially since there is a lot happening in one scene alone. But that is hardly a concern owing to its brilliant nature. And don't just go by what we say, for fans think the same. "Stayed up to watch the @MidnightGospel and WAS NOT disappointed at all. Amazing first episode that I had to watch twice. Once for the animation, and once for the conversation. Deep stuff."

All episodes of 'The Midnight Gospel' are currently streaming on Netflix.
