'The Masked Singer' Season 9: Is Fergie the Medusa? Super Bowl clue hints at former Black Eyed Peas singer
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Donning a green-colored bodysuit with scales, Medusa took everyone by surprise. Despite the snakes in her hair and waist, she blew everyone away with her rendition of 'Happier Than Ever' by Billie Eilish on premiere night.
Before treating the panelists and live audience to Medusa's soulful voice, FOX's 'The Masked Singer' released a bunch of clues. As she took to the stage, judges claimed that the celebrity singer inside it had a "great body." Nicole Scherzinger said she was "maybe a model" after noticing her tall figure. Through her clues, this masked singer wittily revealed that before becoming a famed singer she was also a dancer. Moreover, the snakes attached to her body also seemed to have held some significance to her personality. As Medusa gave the clues, it became clear to 'The Masked Singer' fans that she was someone who has had a unique experience in life. Read on to uncover all the clues.

Clues for Medusa
Putting on the out-of-the-box attire, Medusa said in her clue package, "I grew up far from the spotlight." She labeled herself as a "dancer in the dark." She never fitted in the environment she grew up in. At the same time, she didn't want to give up on herself because "sitting in was not something" she wanted. Medusa claimed that she knew she was "meant to stand out." The video showed the clue had a photo of Buckingham Palace.
Medusa shocked everyone with her beautiful voice. After her performance, more clues were revealed to help the panelists and the audience to guess the correct answer. Then came the swag bag clue. It had a DVD in it saying, "$340 M sold." Medusa then said, "Zometimes success comes from the greyest of places." The diva won the 'Opening Night' episode, leaving everyone guessing about who she was.
Is Fergie under the Medusa Mask?
The clues revealed for Medusa could be a hint that it is Stacy Ann "Fergie" Ferguson underneath this mask. Fergie was a cheerleader during her school days, therefore, the dancing clue could be a connection to this. She even studied dance but certainly didn't make a career in it. She is a singer, rapper, songwriter, actress, voice-over artist, and former dancer. She first starred on the TV series 'Kids Incorporated.' Moreover, the Buckingham palace clue could be a hint for Fergie's name as it is similar to that of Sarah, nicknamed Fergie, Duchess of York.
The snakes attached to Medusa's attire might link us to Fergie's song titled 'Hungry.' The video of the song starts with clips of snakes and other animals in it. Moreover, the ultimate hint is her appearance in Super Bowl XLV. Medusa claimed that she came directly from the, "Super Bowl to this stage." She added that this was not the first time she has come on 'The Masked Singer' stage and that earlier, she was not here as a contentestant. Medusa said, "This time I'm here to compete." 'The Masked Singer' fans connected Medusa's clues with that of Fergie's life and it matched, therefore, a lot of them claimed on social media that they believe Fergie was under Medusa's mask. A fan tweeted, "Black Eyed Peas played the Super Bowl in 2011, Buckingham Palace is a reference to @Fergie." Another claimed, "My thought is Fergie." "Sounds like perhaps Fergie," a fan tweeted with certainty. Another cheered, "Hit it fergie."

As soon as 'The Masked Singer's official page dropped Medusa's singing clip, all fans started commenting that the voice sounded similar to Fergie's. "That is Fergie," commented one. Another replied to this, "You got it!!!" "Hey fergieeee," commented a viewer. Another claimed, "Fergie Ferg is in the house." "Fergie is Madusa," wrote a fan.
With all the possible clues, it is possible that Fergie could be under Medusa's costume but we will have to wait until the unmasking to confirm. We can't wait to see who is under the Medusa mask, but until then we will be looking for more clues that might confirm it's Fergie.
