'The Masked Singer' season 2 returned on Wednesday night, and the competition is getting tougher.

Back for week 3 of the competition, the episode introduced us to four new masked singers who took to the stage with their cryptic clues and ready to sing their hearts out. The Eagle, The Flower, The Fox, and The Penguin all gave their best performances on stage, teasing judges and fans with their tough clues as to what makes them who they are.

At the end of the episode, the fans sadly had to say goodbye to one contestant who no one expected to be gone right in the first episode. When the episode began, the first face-off was between the Flower and the Eagle. The Flower came out on top with the highest votes, sending the Eagle to the smackdown.

The second face-off was between the Fox and the Penguin. Emerging victorious and returning next week was the Fox. It all came down to the Smackdown between the Penguin and Eagle. One of their wings were going to be clipped off at the end of the episode, and as much as we weren't ready to say goodbye to either of them, we had to.

During the Smackdown, though the Eagle stunned everyone with his performance, the Penguin outshone him with a performance of 'Worth It' by Fifth Harmony. After the judges voted, in the end, the Eagle got the axe.

Prior to the show's airing, fans were quite confident about it being Bret Michaels based on the clues shared during the preview. The judges' final guesses were Adam Carolla, Howard Stern, Craig Ferguson, Jeff Foxworthy. But everyone was thrown off when the Eagle was unmasked.

Before the premiere, the series teased that it would be harder than season 1 and the clues are much more cryptic, while that wasn't the case mostly during the first two weeks, they did live up to their claims this week, as this contestant surprised everyone when he was unmasked. Unmasked, the Eagle revealed himself, and he was none other than Dr. Drew Pinsky! The judges were shocked to see him under the mask, especially Jenny after she was so close with her guess, and she did co-host Loveline with Pinsky.

Taking to Twitter after the episode, fans went on to add how none of them made the right guess and were shocked to see Pinsky under the mask. "I thought it was Brett Michaels with the health scare, recently lost a parent, and that red bandanna," wrote a fan. Adding to that another fan said, "The clues are harder this season #TheMaskedSinger."

"THE EAGLE GOT ME! I didn’t expect him under the mask!" wrote a fan. While another added, "Whoa!! I’m really bad at this so much harder this season!!"

"Omg didn’t know #EagleMask was @drdrew #TheMaskedSinger," said a fan. Adding to that another wrote, "Pleasantly surprised. Didn’t picture him behind that mask at all. Great job dr drew!"
