'The Masked Dancer' Season 2: Live stream, release date, plot and all you need to know about the dance reality show
'The Masked Dancer' was originally touted as a "limited masked event" however, chances of it becoming a constant fixture on Fox Network just like its parent show 'The Masked Singer' which got renewed for Season 5 and returning in March 2021, is pretty high. Showrunner and executive producer James Breen already hinted at it while speaking to an outlet in December.
“We all hope it does [run for multiple seasons], but now it’s an event, it’s nine episodes, which in 'The Masked Singer' land is a much shorter run, but obviously we want to keep going forever and I think there’s potential, it’s a really fun show so I hope it goes for as long as it can,” Breen had said. Season 1 of 'The Masked Dancer' concluded on February 17 and here's what you need to know about Season 2 of the show.

Release date
The idea for 'The Masked Dancer' was born after a recurring segment on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' spoofed 'The Masked Singer'. What began as a joke turned out into a full-blown reality show, an entertaining one at that. While there is no news yet about Season 2's premiere date for 'The Masked Dancer', however, our best guess is that it will be announced when Season 3 of 'TMS' goes on air. Plot
Inspired by a segment on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', the participating celebrities are dressed head to toe in campy outfits as they shake a leg on the floor. A clue package featuring subtle hints about their identity would play before/after their performance so that the judges, as well as the audiences at home, could guess who's under the masks. This show also gives the audiences and the judges a chance to guess the identity of the masked celebrity through a 'Word Up' segment where the celebrity in their own voice can speak one word that resonates the most with their personality. Each episode ends with elimination and after weeks of battling it out, the winner walks away with the diamond trophy.
Host
Craig Robinson
Well known for playing one of the most popular and loved guest characters on 'Brooklyn 99' Doug Judy, Craig Robinson hosted Season 1 of 'The Masked Dancer' and did a phenomenal job out of it and there's no doubt that he will be returning as the host on Season 2.
Judges
Ken Jeong, Ashley Tisdale, Brian Austin Greene, and Paula Abdul hosted Season 1 of 'The Masked Dancer'. Like the parent show, the spinoff too saw the judges competing amongst themselves as to who got the most correct guesses and it was none other than the multi-hyphenate Paula Abdul who was bang on every time. Keep checking this space to know if the same set of judges return to judge Season 2.
Creators
'The Masked Dancer' is produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment and Warner Bros Unscripted & Alternative Television with DeGeneres exec producing along with The Masked Singer EP Craig Plestis and Breen, according to Deadline.
