'The Mandalorian' Season 2 Episode 2: Mando and Baby Yoda fend off arachnid attack, fans think it went 'off track'

Spoilers for 'The Mandalorian' Season 2 Episode 2 'The Passenger'
In their quest to find other Mandalorians who can help Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) to find more about the child's origins, the bounty hunter strikes the deal with the Frogs and one of it is helping a Frog get her eggs to the estuary moon of Trask, and on the way, they get tagged by the X-Wings squadron who patrol the rim. In order to evade, Mando crash lands the Razor Crest into a frozen planet, and Baby Yoda, being the naughty imp, decides to gorge on spider eggs just to awaken the entire herd of the gory arachnids.
The trio finds themselves in danger and struggles to take off from the planet as the spiders' threat increases. Help comes in the form of the X-Wings pilots (one of them is Dave Filoni) and they finally get off the frozen wasteland. While this essentially forms the crux of the episode, the fans were not too impressed as they felt it went "off track" and was pretty much a filler episode. "This episode was interesting, but it felt like it went off track. Hopefully, the third episode will help fill the gap #TheMandalorian," read one of the tweets.

"This episode was IGHT, I guess. Definitely not as epic as the first episode of season 2. @themandalorian @disneyplus #TheMandalorian #ThisIsTheWay #DisneyPlus #BabyYoda #TheChild," a fan seconded. However, there were a few positive nods as well. "I guess every midnight I’m gonna be staying up and watching the new episodes of #TheMandalorian every Friday #TheChild so far two episodes of season 2 are so good!!!" wrote one of the fans.
The fear of spiders is real. And fans found it creepy. "#TheMandalorian. This is the Peyton Reed directed the episode. Let me just say it scared me. This episode has horror elements and it just has to use one of the things I really fear. Why couldn’t it be snakes or something? Or rats? Idk." a fan opined.

Some felt a warning was needed. "They definitely needed a warning in the beginning for spiders in this episode idc if it’s a spoiler please skip it if you have fear of spiders #TheMandalorian," a fan remarked. "If there’s one thing tonight’s episode confirmed, it’s that what we’ve seen in the trailers for Season 2 of #TheMandalorian were from the first half of the season and they’re saving the good stuff for the second half of Season 2," read a comment.
