Spoilers for 'The Mandalorian' Season 2 Chapter 9

'The Mandalorian' Season 2 Chapter 9 was an instant success. Titled, 'The Marshal', the episode focuses on Mando/ Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) joining forces to take down a monstrous Krayt dragon terrorizing the town of Mos Pelgo.

The episode starts with Mando and The Child/Baby Yoda searching across the galaxy to find the home of the little tyke and find out more about its kind. In order to help accomplish the quest, Mando searches for another Mandalorian who could help him in his journey. A tip from Gor Koresh leads him back to Tatooine where he hopes to find a Mandalorian but ends up meeting Vanth, the Marshal of the town. He wears the Mandalorian armor and helmet after striking a deal with the Jawas.

For Mando to reacquire the armor and the helmet, he strikes a deal to kill the dragon with Vanth and enlists the help of the Tusken Raiders. Initially, not happy, Vanth eventually gives in and an electric battle between the creature and the men follows. Mando successfully kills the dragon and in the final minutes, the actual wearer of the armor, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) was shown. This had fans on Twitter going wild over the sighting of the fan-favorite character.

"BOBA FETT F**KING LIVES YALL #TheMandalorian" read one of the tweets. "That first ep of season 2 of The Mandalorian was lit also because I think I seen a familiar face that’s one of my favorites at end" wrote one of the fans. "Heck yeah!! Boba Fett surviving the Sarlaac is officially canon again #TheMandalorian" seconded a fan.

The last live-action, the official appearance of Boba Fett was in 'Return of the Jedi', and things didn't go well for him. In a scuffle during which Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) mounted a rescue mission for Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Fett was knocked into a ravenous Sarlacc Pit meant for Luke, one that was meant to digest him slowly over a thousand years. Given the lifespan of the average human, it's possible that the pit keeps its victims alive somehow even as it digests them, which could explain how Boba Fett remains alive despite being visibly swallowed whole.

"The Mandalorian just proves that any character can come back since Boba Fett was just there after he died in ROTJ. Also palpatine came back after he died, and Maul survived being cut in half," opined one of the fans.

"Episode 1 of the Mandalorian was great! It ended on a great cliffhanger, excited to see what the next episodes have in store for us. #TheMandalorian  #TheChild  Spoiler alert: The ending showed Boba Fett, so freaking happy!" remarked a fan.

Another fan wrote, "'He’s gonna stay dead' yeah only if you don’t let us try and bring him back. I just saw boba fett in the mandalorian and he died in ROTJ. Darth Maul was cut in half but then survived when they did the clone wars. Also don’t we all remember how palpatine came back in TROS."

The next big expectation for fans would be if the two Mandalorians meet face-to-face. What are your thoughts on the return of Boba Fett?
