LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It's not particularly shocking that certain Republicans are considering Donald Trump as a potential replacement for Rep Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as Speaker of the House. However, what's catching people off guard is the unexpected supporter of Trump in this scenario: Seth Meyers.

On Thursday, October 5 in the "A Closer Look" segment, Meyers provided a comprehensive analysis of the chaotic state of the Republican party, highlighting the fact that some members are turning to the four-time indicted former president for guidance.

Trump's surprising role as peacemaker

“Yes, tensions are high and Republicans are near fisticuffs. So naturally, the person to help calm things down is Donald Trump,” said Meyers.

“The Republican party is such a mess, they’re asking for help from a guy who’s in court for fraud because no one else is willing to help them out. The GOP is like a guy who’s so desperate for a ride to the airport, he calls a friend who’s under house arrest.”

According to certain sources, there are indications that Trump intends to travel to Washington, DC in the upcoming week to actively engage in the ongoing turmoil.

Meyers expresses uncertainty about whether Trump's visit to the Capitol, often referred to as "returning to the site of the incident," is a prudent decision.

However, upon deeper consideration, Meyers concluded that granting Trump the position of Speaker could potentially be the most effective means to "Make America Great Again."

“He’ll be miserable by Day 2,” Meyers predicted. “It’s all boring procedure and filing legislation and saying mind-numbing shit like ‘The gentleman from South Carolina is recognized.’ He would hate it so much, he’ll actually want to go to prison.”

Segment sparks a variety of reactions on social media platforms

One user reflected on Lindsey Graham's 2015 statement, saying, "Well...Lindsey said it back in 2015. 'If we nominate Trump it will destroy our party, and we will deserve it.'"

Another expressed their desire to witness the GOP's fracture and downfall, stating, "I really hope we're witnessing the fracture and destruction of the GOP. Let them fail."

Some viewers appreciated Seth Meyers' humor, noting, "I love that sometimes Seth can't stop himself from laughing at his jokes."

A fan of Seth Meyers shared their enthusiasm for his show's return, saying, "I feel like a Seth Meyers groupie. I'm SO happy you are back... I can take what's happening from flying to pieces and cry in hopelessness."

The in-house conflicts within the Republican party has garnered attention, with one user likening it to a reality show: "The in-house fighting between the Republicans is better than any VH1 reality show. They are going at each other's throats, and it's making for great late-night TV. Oh, how I've missed this show and the others."
