On her appearance on tonight's 'The Late Late Show with James Corden', 'Pitch Perfect' actress Anna Kendrick first spoke to host James Corden about going to one of the protests being held in Los Angeles in the wake of Minneapolis resident George Floyd's death at the hands of the police.

"It was a positive experience," she started. "[It was] moving, meaningful, and I found it to be peaceful. I had been nervous about going because there had been violence, but it was so wonderful," she told Corden. But then she revealed how the situation deteriorated shortly afterward. "I actually left after a few hours because I'm an old lady and can be under the sun for so long." It was upon returning home when she checked her phone that she knew. "Then there were rubber bullets [being shot], there was a cop car on fire." She added how it didn't feel real because she was just there and things were as peaceful as they could be. "Pretty alarming to see what happened so soon after [my] leaving," she said, adding that it was a "confusing time".

However, Twitter did not take this admission lightly. "'We should not lead the chant unless we understand the concept of the downbeat' - Anna Kendrick," a fan simply tweeted her words. Many couldn't figure out where the actress was featuring a sharp white wall behind her. "Where were you Miss Anna @AnnaKendrick47 That White A*s Wall? lol #LateLateShow."

Even so, she received flak on social media with many viewers pointing out that she did not offer any substantial insight into the dire state of the country. "I’m sorry, but Anna Kendrick is so vapid. She uses crutch words and has that valley girl tone WAY more than I realized — & she failed to string together a coherent, thoughtful personal screed on bigotry re: the events of the past week. @AnnaKendrick47 @latelateshow #LateLateShow" pointed one out.

Despite that, the actress' appearance was most welcomed by fans. "Anna Kendrick is perfect," tweeted one. "@AnnaKendrick47 there is nothing wrong with being an adult and a fan of @LEGO_Group , honestly just make you even more awesome...Build on!" added one when Kendrick shared with the audience an item from her home.

Earlier in the show, the host took to explore deeper the issue of privilege in America and what living with white privilege in the country really means with the show's writer Olivia Harewood.
