'The Larva Island Movie': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about the animated movie
Everyone's favorite larva buddies are back, in a sequel to their long-running adventures. Continuing off of the television series where Red and Yellow were trapped on an island, 'The Larva Island Movie' contains even more of their wacky, slapstick hijinks as they figure out how to make the best of life while stranded in a tropical paradise. Here's all you need to know about the upcoming Netflix film feature.
Release date
'The Larva Island Movie' is set to release on Thursday, July 23, 2020, on Netflix.
Plot
Red and Yellow are two slugs who have been adventuring on TV for years, across several series. The hot-tempered Red and the easygoing, dim-witted Yellow have run into adventure after adventure in an excessively zany world. Their past two seasons saw them move from New York to an island in the middle of nowhere, featured on Netflix's 'Larva Island,' where they meet the human, Chuck.
The official synopsis for the movie reads, "In this movie sequel to the hit series, Chuck returns home and talks to a reporter about life on the island with zany larva pals Red and Yellow." Why Red and Yellow remain on the island while Chuck gets to go home remains a mystery, but it would appear that Red and Yellow might just be happier where they are - at least, for the time being.
Cast
Eddy Lee
Eddy Lee is a long time voice actor, more known for his work on anime films such as 'Pokemon,' 'Lastman', and in video games like 'Pathfinder: Kingmaker.' He has been a part of the English version of 'Larva Island' cast for Netflix. The film also stars voice actors Hong Bum-ki and Kang Shi Hyun, though no other information regarding the film's cast has been released at this time.
