Spoilers ahead for season 1 episode 3 of 'The L Word: Generation Q' titled 'Lost Love'

It was a very emotional period for Finley (Jacqueline Toboni) this episode and even though she might be looking happy in the above picture, the episode was far from a happy one for her.

Things between Finley and Rebecca (Olivia Thirlby) seem to be going just fine - they wake up next to each other in bed and share some cute pillow talk we are all here for. But Rebecca must now leave for she needs to be somewhere. When it is revealed that Rebecca is going to Church; add to that the fact that she is going on a Tuesday, Finley is visibly shaken. She immediately covers up and withdraws any gesture of affection.

She later tells Sophie (Rosanny Zayas) how it is weird that Rebecca is going to church on a Tuesday morning. Since Sophie is also considering MCC, the church Rebecca was talking about, as a venue for the marriage, the two decide to give it a look together. Throughout the sequence, Finley is paranoid about first going to the church and then being in the church.

But it is soon revealed that Rebecca is not just another church-goer, she is, in fact, the priest, who admits to being more closeted about being Christian than being a queer. A very surprised Finley imagines she has committed a sin by "fudging the priest" and being in the church. Her very Catholic upbringing tells her exactly that. She reveals how she hasn't been inside a Catholic Church since she was a kid and didn't even attend her grandfather's funeral. It is an emotional scene as you can see Finley wade through years and years of orthodox teachings and the fact that she is lugging around all these years.

In the previous episode, we also see Finley drink lots of alcohol to muster the courage to talk to women - liquid courage as she had said. Could this have anything to do with years of being taught against her true self?

At the end of the episode, Finley visits the church once again with Rebecca by her side - this time with the intention of praying and coming to terms with her past

'The L Word: Generation Q' airs on Sundays at 10/ 9c on Showtime.
