Spoilers ahead for Season 1 Episode 3 of 'The L Word: Generation Q' titled 'Lost Love'

As Bette (Jennifer Beals) prepares for an important mayoral debate, Dani (Arienne Mandi) is there by her side throughout. However, she is also managing the planning of her wedding with Sophie (Rosanny Zayas).

This week, as the couple takes the first steps towards planning their wedding, they face unexpected differences.

At the beginning of the episode, Dani's father Rodolfo (Carlos Leal) apologizes for reacting negatively when she told him about proposing to Sophie. They even have a heart-to-heart about Dani's mother and how they had a small wedding with little money that her mother spent on flowers.

Dani is surprised to see such a turn of heart — especially considering how in the first episode when she told him how serious she was with Sophie, he brushed it off as a passing affair. So when they meet over lunch, she welcomes the apology.

During lunch, he also proposes that they get married at the exquisite Biltmore. But since Dani and Sophie cannot afford it, Rodolfo wishes to bear the costs of the wedding himself.

He wants to do everything possible for Dani; he wants her to have everything that he and his wife, Dani's dead mother, didn't have the fortune to have at their wedding.

A surprised Dani appreciates the offer but must check with Sophie. She manages to get Sophie - who is looking at churches for the venue - ready for the orientation only on the terms that they can make the final decision for themselves.

Everything is going well with Sophie's family present at the orientation. But then it is revealed that her father has already put in the deposit for the extravagant wedding hall.

It brings the couple to the debate of who is tying the knot for whom. Sophie points out that she didn't feel like she belonged in that hall and Dani points out that her father wishes to give her the wedding he never had.

Well, it was an inevitable discussion. We had an inkling that is Dani's father did come around, it could lead to some differences in the planning of the wedding. The couple must now decide what they want for themselves and each other.

'The L Word: Generation Q' airs on Sundays at 10/9c on Showtime.
