‘The Knight Before Christmas’ Review: The Medieval Knight will definitely sweep you off your feet

Smitten by Brooke’s aura, he is drawn towards her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. What could possibly bring the two together again other than the magic of Christmas?
PUBLISHED NOV 21, 2019

There’s something special about Knights and Christmas that make the holiday season very special. Call it their charm and sweetly glazed medieval dialect, they make all the ladies swoon. In this cold snowy weather, only a true Knight’s love will keep you warm and cozy.

Netflix Originals is definitely on a roll with its bountiful releases this year. ‘The Knight Before Christmas’ just premiered and we must say it is one sweet romantic movie which makes it hard to miss out.

The film is set in two different timeframes, one in the medieval era, the 18th Century and the other in the present day scenario, 2019. But the seamless cinematography makes it exciting to watch.  Somewhere far away in the village of Norwich, Sir Cole (Josh Whitehouse), is on a quest to find King Edward III falcon with his brother. As they decide to split up to look around, Sir Cole stumbles upon an Old Crone who guides him to fulfill his main quest.

We were as baffled as he was when she talks about ‘Steel Steer’, ‘Steel Dragons’ and ‘A Magic Box that makes Merry.' The Old Crone teleports him to the future and that’s how he lands in the beautiful city of Ohio where he bumps into Brooke (Vanessa Hudgens).

L-R Sir Cole, Brooke, Madison (IMDB)

Cloaked in his typical medieval armor with a sword for protection, he looks absolutely charismatic and his charm makes Brook is head over heels at first sight. We don’t blame her, for, Sir Cole, is indeed handsome.

Well, this film depicts everything that happens when a Knight from 18th Century time-travels into the future. It is so wonderful to see a mighty Knight like this one trying to figure out life, technology and how things work in 2019.

He is like an adult baby in the world and it is evident as he is seen pressing random buttons on the radio, trying to figure out how things work in this world. His goofiness is at the peak when we see him struggling around technology. It’s just adorable when he banishes Alexa, in the refrigerator because he cannot find the turn off the switch.

Sir Cole stands by his virtues and is constantly on the lookout to find his main quest for which he is here. He comes off as a proper hero through his acts of heroism, be it saving an old woman’s purse from a pickpocket, rescuing Claire from the icy lake or even imbibing the spirit of Christmas back into Brooke’s life. He is indeed a true Knight. Sir Cole only has time until the midnight of Christmas eve to figure out and finish his quest. With time slipping away like sand, it was only moments before the midnight that he figures out his one true quest! It was all about love and resurrecting Brooke’s love life!

What’s a Christmas film without any kisses under the mistletoe, so they seal their love with the kiss of life as he returns to the Medieval era to reunite with his brother. Smitten by Brooke’s humbleness and aura, he is drawn towards her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. What could possibly bring the two together again other than the magic of Christmas?

Watch the premiere of 'The Knight Before Christmas' only on Netflix on November 21, 2019.
