'The King: Eternal Monarch' Episode 14 will feature some major twists in the plot and that might be the reason why the promo has not been released

'The King: Eternal Monarch' Episode 13 ended with a shocking cliffhanger. Lee Gon is in Tae-eul's world, Korea, where he's a lot more relaxed about his security than in Corea. So when Luna manages to fool him initially, he ends up having a beer with her, but when he realizes that Luna is not Tae-eul it is too late. He has already ingested the spiked drink and he also passes out. So will this mean that Luna has managed to stop Lee Gon from traveling back in time to save himself? Will Luna hand Lee Gon over to Lee Lim? However, the last we saw, she had double-crossed him and taken a huge amount of cash from his hiding spot in Corea. The cliffhanger has left the audiences with a lot more questions and episode 14 is expected to answer at least a few of these questions and hint at answers for all.

This is also the reason why excitement among fans regarding the upcoming episode is high. While SBS had decided to push the release of Friday's episode last week, they had aired 'Contagion' in an attempt to make viewers more aware of how difficult a virus such as COVID-19 is to deal with. This move has essentially helped the network drum up more excitement among fans for the upcoming episode. Without a promo (for Netflix viewers), fans have been speculating about how the plot will shape up in the future and there are quite a few interesting fan theories that might turn out to be true.

1. Lee Lim who tried to steal the Manpasikjeok (flute) is from the future

Now that Lee Gon has realized that there is a possibility that he could travel time, fans guess that a conversation between the present Lee Gon and Lee Lim after Lee Gon is drugged could lead Lee Lim to head back to the past to steal the Manpasikjeok. In turn, Lee Gon might end up traveling back to the past to stop his uncle from doing so.

2. Lee Gon's capture might result in Tae-eul traveling back in time

In truth, it was the future Lee Gon who has saved the child from being killed by Lee Lim. However, now that he has been captured by Luna, to stop Lee Gon's death; Tae-eul might end up traveling back in time. She might not have all the information about the time-space continuum but she is aware that time freeze in the present is long enough for Lee Lim to attack anyone he chooses as they are sitting ducks during this period. She is also aware that Lee Gon has been experimenting regarding the possibility of traveling through time as well. He had mentioned the same when the two of them were together in Corea. He had said that this could be possible if they reached the end of the Nomansland that lies between Korea and Corea.

3. Court Lady Noh is from 1950s North Korea and she might not be the only one

It was revealed in the last episode that Court Lady Noh is also from Korea and was saved from the war by Lee Gon's grandfather and brought over to Corea. Could this mean that there are others from Korea in Corea who were rescued? If this is the case, Lee Gon's theory might actually be right. Once the Manpasikjeok is whole again, the one who holds the Manpasikjeok can freely travel between Korea and Corea without the problem of time freezing. This would help solve one of the many obstacles that Tae-eul and Lee Gon face right now.

On a side note, SBS, the network that airs the show originally in South Korea did reveal a teaser of the upcoming episode reportedly which features Jo Yeong and Tae-eul finding Lee Gon gravely injured. The teaser also apparently featured Tae-eul getting stabbed by Luna, but Netflix stream, however, did not include this end of episode teaser.

'The King: Eternal Monarch' is originally aired in South Korea on SBS at 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The show can be streamed on Netflix in the US.
