Laura Adlington reached the final leg of the 2020 'The Great British Baking Show' and couldn't be more thrilled about it. However, her journey has not been easy and a few bake fails and an episode of vile online trolling later, Laura is ready to take on the challenges that lay in her path.

Unlike most home bakers, Laura is relatively new to the field. It was only a few years ago that she realized how much she loved the scent of freshly baked goods. However, that's not the only activity that fills up the rest of the hours of her day. She volunteers for the Samaritans. Laura is married to Matt, has a Police Community Support, she loves musical theatre and enjoys trips to London West End, according to a Metro report.

The 31-year-old Gravesend resident also enjoys doing up her home, which is picture perfect. The kitchen is equipped with everything she needs to whip up the perfect treat. Aesthetics wise, it's pristine and boasts of an all-white theme with wooden worktops, The Sun reported.

"I started planning the garden just over a year ago and can now finally say that it's finished! It's been a lot of hard work but so worth it and Laura and I can spend the summer enjoying it," Matt wrote on his private Instagram account, as reported by the publication.

Laura's stint on the show was laced with some shining performances and a few duds. However, those moments of successes and failures didn't deter her from reaching her goal but there was something else that bothered her and it was her weight. She was "terrified" of being judged for her appearance.

"I’ve struggled with low self-esteem and anxiety for most of my life, although I wasn’t officially diagnosed until I was 24. But baking brings me so much joy," she told Radio Times and added that: "Before going on Bake Off, I was terrified of being trolled because of my weight, but the vast majority of comments have been positive and the support I’ve had has been overwhelming."
