‘The Good Doctor’ Season 3 Episode 8: Fans have strong reactions on LimLendez breakup

As episode 8 saw Dr Neil Melendez and Dr Audrey Lim break up, fans have varied reactions to the split of the most sought-after couple of the series.

Our predictions and theories finally came true. After much struggle, arguments, and difference of opinions, Neil and Audrey finale drew the curtains on their relationship.

We knew for a while this was coming. After Neil lost a patient during surgery and had been acting out, his overall behavior towards his work, as well as to his relationship with Audrey had been colder. Despite being a seasoned surgeon, he was suffering from self-doubt and Audrey tried to keep it together, both as his partner and his boss. But to no avail.

Despite Dr Glassman’s attempt to mediate and get them to work in tandem, and succeeding in a surgery as a team, Audrey and Neil could not manage to keep the relationship together.

As Audrey finally calls it quits, fans have been upset and have mixed reactions. Some people like @itsijayy_ wanted the two to split, “I need Melendez and Lin to break up already.  #TheGoodDoctor” and some like @ImAustinShomakr feel that the two doctors are being unprofessional, “Yeah, keep the relationship issues OUT of the hospital #TheGoodDoctor”

But there are fans like @FebWriter, who don’t want to lose hope on their favorite couple and encourage fellow fans to be positive: “To all my fellow #Limlendez shippers: Keep the faith! It wouldn't be a drama if there wasn't some angst. We know they love each other. This is just an obstacle for them to overcome, and they'll be stronger for it. #TheGoodDoctor”

As @93Court tweets, “Dr Lim and Dr Melendez told each other “I love you” and then she broke up with him. They better find their way back to each other. Dr Lim is afraid. She is letting fear get in the way of happiness #TheGoodDoctor”. Such reactions seem quite encouraging and give us hope that Audrey and Neil might get back together."

But as @runawayresume suggests, “Both of you have strong personalities & you both are excellent doctors. Dr Melendez is arrogant & has an ego but we know he really loves you. You love him too but your egos get in the way. One of you have to be submissive in order for your relationship to work. #TheGoodDoctor”

Now, whether they will get back together or not, is something that we have to see, but would that also mean one of the characters coule be leaving the show?

‘The Good Doctor’ Season 3 airs on Monday at 10.30 pm only on ABC.
