Eddie Horniman (Theo James), who has been striving to leave the criminal world throughout the season, has a change of heart. He now desires to purchase Bobby Glass' business but lacks sufficient funds.

Meanwhile, he contends with three other bidders- Stanley Johnston (Giancarlo Esposito), Mercy Moreno, and Peter Spencer Forbes.

To secure the bid, Eddie finds himself in need of funds. Seeking assistance, he enlists the help of Henry Collins (Max Beesley), emphasizing that it's the sole means to put an end to Susie's pursuit of him.

Eddie and Susie ally, combining the financial resources of his family's estate, £15 million from Henry Collins, and an additional £30 million from the funds he provided Susie for her involvement with Jack.

As Bobby Glass receives the bid, it is revealed that Stanley Johnston is the highest bidder. However, Eddie outwits him by executing his plan. When Stanley's assistant, Emory Stevens (Alexis Rodney), heads to the bank with the cash, Edward sets his plan in motion.

Eddie activates Collins, whose accountant is aware of where Stanley hides his tax records. This information is forwarded to the authorities at Revenue and Customs.

As a result, Stanley faces arrest for tax evasion, leading to the seizure of all his assets. Stripped of the financial capacity to proceed with the acquisition of Bobby's business, he loses his status as the highest bidder.

To eliminate the other bidders, Eddie informs Mercy that Pete has won the bid. Facing pressure from her South American superiors, Mercy takes matters into her own hands and kills Pete based on Eddie's suggestion that he was struggling to secure funds, leaving her with a chance to win.

However, Henry Collins unexpectedly arrives and shoots Mercy.

With Mercy and Pete no longer in contention, only Eddie and Susie's bid remains. Despite his initial aspiration to remove his family from the criminal underworld, Eddie unexpectedly becomes the co-owner of a billion-pound drug empire.

Bobby then informs them that he never planned to sell out his business and instead wanted them to become invested in it.

'The Gentlemen' Season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
