'The Flash' Season 6: The Negative Flash may make an appearance as Barry struggles to cope with losing Nora

With the new season less than 10 days away, updates for the show keep pouring in and recently, new photos have emerged that hint at the appearance of the Negative Flash. The images show Barry struggling while his suit seems to have changed color

Barry Allen has a lot to deal with in the latest installment of 'The Flash'. Season five saw him lose his daughter Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) as she disappeared from existence when a new timeline was created.

This also resulted in the 'Crisis' being pushed from 2024 to 2019. Besides, he has his hands full with new villains in Bloodwork and Godspeed. Quite simply, tough days lie ahead for Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash. 

With the new season less than 10 days away, updates for the show keep pouring in and recently, new photos have emerged that hint at the appearance of the negative Flash.

The images show Barry struggling while his suit seems to have changed color. His fingertips too, seem to be turning black. While it is all speculation at this stage, the usage of black undertones may likely hint at Barry turning into the Negative Flash.

According to comicbook, in the comics, Barry becomes the Negative Flash because of Eobard Thawne's Negative Speed Force, an extra-dimensional negative energy field that ultimately eats away the regular speed force.

It can consume speedsters at the slightest touch. Thawne creates this to get rid of the Scarlet Speedster and his loved ones. This, he hoped, would push Barry to the point where he would be consumed by grief and merge with the speed force. 

The Negative Speed Force was introduced in season five when Nora used it to travel back in time without letting Barry sense her presence. An imprisoned Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) teaches her to use it as it was his creation.

In the finale, he reveals that the only way she could survive was to run into the Negative Force, which she wouldn't do as that would mean it would be a part of her forever.

Perhaps, the team may even figure out a way to "save" Nora and this may have prompted Barry's corruption into the Negative Flash. Of course, as we said, all this is pure speculation. Guess we'll know when 'The Flash' Season 6 will debut on October 8, 2019.
