'The Flash' Season 6 Finale: Has Iris developed meta-human powers in the Mirrorverse?

The next time we see Iris West-Allen, she just might have some new powers

Well, well, well. Season 6 of 'The Flash' ended on a perplexing note. To be fair, this was not the finale the showrunners had planned but due to the coronavirus pandemic, they had to cut it short by three episodes. So it's no surprise that many things remained unresolved.

For starters, Iris West (Candice Patton) was not rescued from the Mirrorverse, delaying the much-hoped-for West-Allen reunion. Secondly, she...er...vanished. Iris had been suffering from neural dissonance for two episodes now and it seems that it finally took its toll on her.

Except, maybe it didn't. Iris had just about learned how to control the powers of the Mirrorverse, after tracking down David Singh. This leaves the possibility of Iris becoming a meta-human on the show, as she was technically the only one who didn't have powers on team Flash. The questions that arise are, if this were true, what sort of powers would Iris have? Would she be the new Mirror Mistress, but a better version of her? That would make an exciting addition to team Flash. Maybe something good did come out of all the itching and the neural dissonance talk.

Iris has been trapped in the Mirrorverse for the second half of Season 6. She was abducted by Eva McCullough (Efrat Dor) and trapped in the Mirrorverse when she went to track down Joseph Carver (Eric Nennington) and the sinister Black Hole organization. At first, Eva seemed like a distraught wife, who just missed her husband. It turned out that Eva had diabolic plans of her own and had installed mirror clones of Iris and Kamilla back in the real world to do her dirty work. Mirror Iris got Bloodwork's(Sendhil Ramamurthy) blood and threw it into the mirror liberating Eva from her glassy prison.

In the finale, Carver warns Barry that Iris might be dead and there's barely anything left of her, but our Scarlet Speedster relies on his hope and gut feeling. He knows Iris is alive, and for all we know, she has new powers too. How will this affect the Barry-Iris equation in Season 7?

Well, it's going to take a while before that question is answered.
