The Elongated Man's logo made its much-awaited appearance in Episode 6: 'License to Elongate'. The Flash (Grant Gustin) presented the insignia to the superhero at a press conference announcing him as Central City's latest savior. He pinned the button with the logo embossed on it like a badge. While the character has worn a few of those in the comics, the one revealed in the episode is the most recognizable and was the same one that he wore when he was part of the Justice League International in the comics.

Played by Hartley Sawyer, The Elongated Man is one of Flash's renowned allies and along with his stretching abilities, he's known for his impressive investigative skills. Ralph Dibny came aboard in the season after realizing he could help Team Flash in fighting crime and evil. The superhero first appeared in The Flash #112 in 1960 as an ace sleuth who created a wonder drug that could help reshape his body. He was also introduced as a fast-talking, light-hearted character and was known for his sense of humor.

The new season has not exactly gone well for Dibny as he is still coming to terms about the imminent 'Crisis' and Barry's death. 'License to Elongate' was an important episode for the character as it delves into his life as a PI and also talks about some of his biggest strengths. There is still one unsolved storyline pertaining to Sue Dearborn, his future wife in the comics. Dearborn is yet to be introduced on 'The Flash'. With the episodes focussing on Bloodwork and the 'Crisis', it looks like we may have to wait for Dearborn's introduction, just like how we all waited for his official insignia.

'The Flash' airs on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on The CW.
