'The Five' host Judge Jeanine Pirro wants immigrants to pay US government for food, healthcare and 'everything else'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro demanded that immigrants coming into the United States should pay back the government for the assistance provided to them in the host country during an episode of 'The Five'.
The immigration "crisis" has been one of the prioritized concerns of the evening show, aligning with the Republican-leaning and conservative values of the network.
The host made the bizarre suggestion following recent updates over the Biden administration's response to New York City being flooded by thousands of immigrants.
Judge Pirro says 'American dream' is not the same anymore
The panel on 'The Five' brought up the issue of the increasing number of immigrants in New York City once again, this time addressing the concern of the city providing designated areas for the residence of the migrants.
These areas are on the outskirts of the main hubs of the city. Many migrants have complained that it is a major inconvenience for them in terms of commuting to work.
Pirro, whose mother is a Lebanese American herself, slammed the migrants who have not yet started working after arriving in America, claiming that the idea of the American dream has significantly changed.
"The United States is nothing more than a global landing spot with benefits. And when they come here for the 'American dream', they are not coming here for the American dream the way that your father did, my mother or father did or any of us at the table," Pirro said.
"Only 2% of the 140,000 migrants in New York City have applied for a work permit. And maybe it's [because] there are so many of them but that's Joe Biden's fault, okay? These people come in for asylum. Asylum is only when you have a credible fear of being prosecuted in your home country, not if you're poor, not cause you think [of] the American Dream," the host continued.
Jeanine Pirro wants migrants 'pay' before leaving
Pirro then went on to propose a solution to her concerns: demanding that migrants pay their way out of America when they decide to leave.
"If these people, who have been taken out to this designated location in Brooklyn don't like it, they want to come back to Manhattan, the Roosevelt, pay your own way!" the host said.
She added, "And if you want to go home, pay your own way. By the way, maybe you shouldn't be allowed to go home until you pay us for what we paid. For your food, your education, your medication, your healthcare, money for food, and everything else."
