NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: As the 2024 Presidential Election gets closer each day, there's much speculation and anticipation around whether President Joe Biden will be challenged by any of his fellow Democrats, as per CNN.

Many have observed indications of potential covert campaigns within the party to replace the POTUS.

However, Fox host Harold Ford Jr believes that the Democrats will face an uphill battle, suggesting that it will be challenging to sway voters away from the incumbent.

Are Democrats attempting to replace Joe Biden?

A significant portion of these developments stems from the numerous criticisms directed at Biden and concerns about his advancing age. As President Biden's popularity reportedly wanes in contrast to his Republican rival Donald Trump, there are indications that the Democratic Party may be exploring potential alternatives.

Gavin Newsom has been a focal point of discussions concerning the possibility of new Democratic candidates in the upcoming election, as per Forbes.

It was the California Governor's China visit that made those speculations even stronger.

Congressman Dean Philips has also stepped forward in what is being dubbed as a 'shadow campaign' for the primary elections against Biden, as per BBC.

According to an Axios report, that was highlighted on 'The Five', there is speculation that several others are considering a presidential campaign.

Fox News host Harold Ford Jr says smaller campaigns against Joe Biden won't work

The Democrat moderate on 'The Five', Harold Ford Jr expressed that while the party might attempt to build their campaigns against Biden, it won't be fruitful.

"I think that anyone that is seeking to undertake a quiet campaign for the nomination of his or her political party won't win. The best campaigns which are winning campaigns are bold, they are loud, they are engaging, they are strategic, they are substantive," the host said.

"These kinds of things happen on both sides," Ford Jr continued, "It gets a lot more attention rightly so over the last one or two cycles because we have third parties and you are able to raise money differently."

"But I don't suspect that anyone will quietly beat Joe Biden," he declared, "You're gonna have to loudly beat the incumbent in a... We have not had an incumbent President defeated in a primary."

He concluded by saying, "They have been challenged and those challengers have, I think, weakened them in general. But I think they are probably... I'm not naive about this. They probably believe that if President Biden decides not to run for some reason, they want to be prepared. And looks as if that's what they are doing."
