'The Curse Of Oak Island' Season 8 Episode 8: Is Erin's treasure vault theory a dud? Amused fans say 'call HR'

Holy Shamoley... we didn't find treasure, shocker. In the latest of 'The Curse Of Oak Island', the Laginas and their team rush around to get working on Erin Helton's theory. For the past few episodes, she has been stumping the team with her interpretation of Zena Halpern's map. She was sure that the 'strategically placed' boulders could be pointing somewhere, and lately, she was sure that the treasure vault has been under their noses all along and that they've been digging in the wrong area. She told them to not dig in the Money Pit area anywhere. However, the spot that she did advise, had no tunnel. So the disheartened team told her that they still had faith in her theory, but to please re-assess.

Fans are not surprised because they've been calling her theory crazy for a while now. "'We're at the end of this hole.' 'We didn't find Erin's tunnel'?? Someone's gonna get called into HR... #OakIslandCursers #CurseOfOakIsland," a fan wrote. Others assumed that Charles Barkhouse will be busy at the Money Pit, and hoping to find something so that Erin couldn't cut him out. "I get it, Barkhouse is at the Money Pit still digging, like a vulture, praying he'll find something so Erin can't cut him out! #OakIslandCursers #CurseOfOakIsland," one wrote.

Currently, the team is trying to understand the Chinese coin, that Gary had found several episodes before. In Episode 2 of 'The Curse Of Island', Gary had showed his find to the Lagina brothers in the War Room and they were mighty impressed with his discovery. He feels that the colonialists stamped something from it. In the preview of Episode 3, as the coin is investigated further, there is much speculation that the coin is a Chinese one. We already know about Spanish, British and French activity on the island. Gary had said that the coin was much more exotic. And now, they've just discovered that the coin might be dating from around 900 BC. But what does that mean?

There are so many things to investigate on the island, and the team is scrambling to put it all together. 'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel on Tuesdays at 9 pm.
