'The Curse Of Oak Island' is known for churning out curious theories and ideas. To be fair, Oak island, in reality, has been a favorite for historians and researchers, due to its myth of buried treasure that no one has ever found.

Yet, there is determination and insistence that has spanned almost two centuries, that the treasure exists. Keeping to this line of thought, Rick and Marty Lagina have been scouring the island thoroughly, without much success.

Far from having flagging spirits, the brothers discovered several other objects that might point in the direction of the treasure. Or so they feel.

In the latest episode of Season 7, a researcher shows the brothers Nicolas Poussin's paintings from the 1700s, which is said to have clues pointing to the location of the fabled money pit. Fans of the show are duly perplexed by this and have not minced words expressing their opinion on the subject.

One fan wrote, "Now we're deciphering the meaning of paintings that tell us unequivocally that treasure was buried on Oak Island. I’ll take 'Shit That Makes no Sense & No one Can Prove' for $1000, Alex. #CurseOfOakIsland #OakIslandCursers."

Another tweeted, "#OakIslandCursers #CurseofOakIsland So they're actually investigating the painting location??"

One fan wrote, "This new painting theory seems like the most ludicrous yet. #CurseOfOakIsland #OakIslandCursers."

"#CurseOfOakIsland. #OakIslandcursers The missing painting that ties it all together," tweeted another.

Other fans got tired of just seeing iron nails and said that they would just like to see "actual treasure now". One fan wrote, "Bummer #CurseOfOakIsland I need to see actual treasure at this point and NOT old iron nails and planks."

A fan traced how Rick Lagina had changed over the seasons. "Over the years Rick has gone from: Exuberant, optimistic & aggressive to Cautious, analytical & subdued He’s still all in, but the emotional roller coaster of getting excited at EVERY find must have been exhausting."

'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel, Tuesdays at 9 pm.
