'The Curse Of Oak Island' Season 7 Episode 6 Review: The team makes startling discoveries in this explosive episode

The sixth episode of 'The Curse Of Oak Island' aired on History Channel on December 10, and was quite a fun and engaging one.
PUBLISHED DEC 11, 2019

The lengthiest treasure hunt on reality television, 'The Curse Of Oak Island'  follows a strict pattern -- the Lagina brothers find something dating back to the olden days, they get excited and think they've come closer to finding the rumoured treasure, then they realise it's a wrong assumption and then they rope in a knowledgeable soul who provides them with intriguing knowledge about the past. The determined team continues to dig at the island.

In the latest episode of the show titled 'Closing In', the team is keen on digging up the shaft, which could lead to the Money Pit...because everything in the show seems to end up at this mythical pit, even though they never find it. The team undertakes an amibitious seismic operation at the Caving Pit, which is near Smiths cove. This is expected to help them chart tunnels and anomalies in Oak Island. Undoubtedly, even though you have an inking of how this ends, it's still fun to see the mini-explosions. You can't deny the Lagina brothers and the writers one thing, they sure know how to have fun on this endless search for treasure.

They've been at this for 10 years, they say, and they clearly are not giving up any time soon. Where is this mysterious flood tunnel that will lead to the money pit?

While waiting for permits to examine the swamp, they have other business to do and continue exploring the island for more artefacts. And keeping true to the show's formula, they discover an iron Deccan spike, which they wonder whether it's from a ship, possibly a Spanish Galleon. These spikes are found on ships, they learn later.  You got to love these theories. These spikes are linked to discoveries made five decades ago, and their belief that there is Spanish treasure on the island grows stronger.

Could this be more evidence that the swamp was artifically made, to hide the treasure?

The end story: Considering the numerable items and objects that they have found in the swamp, they're certain in the right place. They theorise that this is the place where boats come and unload their treasure.

This episode of 'The Curse Of Oak Island' was highly entertaining and good fun, more so than the previous episodes. The team is excited about their new discoveries and are determined to figure out the elusive trail to the rumoured treasure on the cursed island.

'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel on Tuesdays, 9pm ET.
