'The Curse Of Oak Island' Season 7 Episode 4 Review: The team makes thrilling discovery that could bring them closer to rumored treasure

The latest episode of 'The Curse Of Oak Island' had some new exciting discoveries.

After years of scouring Oak Island, Rick and Marty Lagina have found several exciting elements from history, but never the rumored treasure that was supposed to have been buried there. However, in this episode, their blood, sweat and tears might have paid off, and they might be one tiny step closer to solving some mysteries about Oak Island.

The team discovered a strange antique brooch, which was in the shape of a peculiar pine tree, quite similar to the symbol used by George Washington, for his revolutionary battle flag. There was some new compelling evidence that some of America's founding fathers had knowledge about the treasure buried on Oak Island, which became instrumental to finance the American Revolution. It's a fantastical possibility, but the team works hard to convince the viewers about this theory. The team is thrilled and ecstatic about their new find, as this brooch is something "that has never been seen before".  The brothers are keen on investigating the brooch and uncovering its historical relevance.

Meanwhile, Rick and Marty Lagina are drilling into Smith's cove, as they've found a piece of wood 50 feet in, and are speculating whether this leads to the mythical flood tunnel, which could give the answers about the buried treasure. The wood sample is understood to be a piece from the tunnel and seems to be from the 1700's, which excites the team further.

This means, that the wood found 50 feet beneath the beach, and is carbon-dated to 60 years before the discovery of the money pit, could be the key to their answers. One team member enthusiastically says, "Pierce it, dig it up, tear that earth up!" However, Rick Lagina says the whole hunt is fraught with uncertainty and that "slow, measured steps" should be taken.

The episode was another fun, interesting and entertaining one, as the team has inched closer to trying to understand the intensely-concealed mystery of Oak Island. The focus was entirely on the mysterious brooch, and discovering its significance. This was more intriguing than the past two episodes, which seemed to drag on and go around in circles, quite like the team itself. Is the speculation correct? Are the theories true? Well, the team would have to produce far more concrete evidence to substantiate their claims, but they're determined to answer burning questions that have plagued the cursed island for over centuries.

'The Curse Of Oak Island' airs on History Channel, Tuesdays at 9 pm ET.
