More digging and more theories are promised in the upcoming episode of 'The Curse Of Oak Island'. But the clock is ticking away now and there is no time to be idle. The Lagina brothers are desperate to make a fantastic breakthrough, before the merciless winter sets in on the eerie island and they're compelled to shut down all operations.

The upcoming episode will focus on Samuel Ball (1765-1846), who is speculated to be a farmer on the island, though history says otherwise. It is believed that he found treasure on the island.

The synopsis for the episode titled 'X Marks The Spot' reads, "With time running out, the ultimate breakthrough may finally be within the fellowship's grasp and new evidence suggests Samuel Ball was guarding something of great value."

In the previous episode, we saw the surviving Restalls return and recall their tragic tale. For those unversed with the story: Robert Restall had worked hard and doggedly to find the fabled treasure on the island back in the late 1950s.

With his son Bob Restall and wife Mildred, he had moved to Oak Island and was determined to find the fabled treasure. One day, tragedy struck. While digging the shaft, Restall Sr was overcome by hydrogen sulfide fumes.

His son Bob went down the shaft and also lost consciousness. Their companions, Cyril Hiltz and Andy DeMont went down the shaft and tried to rescue them. Edward White, who was visiting the island managed to rescue only DeMont. The rest died.

The Laginas have been scouring the land for almost seven years now. According to their findings, there is a "ship-shaped" anomaly in the swamp, which could have been used to offload treasure at one point.

They have found several iron spikes, a ring and an iron hinge, which they're sure is from a treasure chest. More than monetary value, the team is more curious about the history of the island, and its connections with the Spanish and French.

And what role did the Knights Templar have to play here? The questions are never-ending, and the team is pulling out all the stops to get their answers.

Tune into 'The Curse Of Oak Island' on the History Channel at 9 pm on Tuesdays.
