Just a few episodes for the seventh season of 'The Curse Of Oak Island' to come to a close. The tension and frenzy to find the flood tunnels are reaching a peak and the Oak Island team will do whatever it takes to achieve their target.

In the earlier episodes, they discovered coconut fiber, which is believed to booby-trap the flood tunnels. Along with this, they found more iron spikes, which are speculated to be from the ship at the bottom of a swamp. They also discovered pieces of metal that could have been used as a strap to secure the box or a chest.

Another crucial discovery is that they might have just found a 'glaring' anomaly at a depth of around 60 feet, located in the uplands. They find a peculiar geyser that squirts up water. What could that mean?

The swamp is a goldmine of mysteries and the team has been desperately trying to get answers to the questions that have plagued historians, researchers and treasure hunters for the past few centuries.

In the 17th episode of the season, Rick Lagina decides to kick it up a notch. The official synopsis of the episode reads, "Rick goes to extreme and dangerous measures to get answers about the uplands of Smith's Cove."

The team is sure that they're closing in on the Money Pit (something they've been saying for the past couple of episodes). Recently, an intriguing new theory suggested that the original trio that discovered the Money Pit in 1795 did not come upon it accidentally.

A little history refresher: In 1795, young men discovered a depression in the ground beneath an old oak tree on Oak island, leading them to the conclusion that there’s treasure buried there. The hunt grew manic in the 1800s. And then began the ‘curse’, where five humans perished in the hunt for buried treasure. According to the legend, in order to solve the Oak Island mystery, seven had to die.

Will Rick's hard work pay off? Tune into 'The Curse Of Oak Island' on Wednesdays at 9 pm on History Channel.
