The Curse Of Oak Island' Season 7 Episode 16 Review: Iron spikes and rocks leave us with unsolved mysteries
The seventh season of 'The Curse Of Oak Island' has been an entertaining one for the most part, despite a few dreary episodes scattered here and there. The past few discoveries have been thrilling, especially the findings of coconut fiber, the iron spikes from probably a ship that appeared to have sustained a fire and the hunt for the 90 feet stone.
The search for the mythical flood tunnels still continues in the latest episode titled 'Water-logged'. However, after several consecutive action-packed and thrilling episodes, not much was found in the latest one, except for a couple of more iron spikes. Could that spike be a part of the original works?
In this episode, the Oak Island team continues to hack away at the swamp and they hope to intercept a part of the flood tunnel. Here, they discover two iron spikes that they believe to be dated back to the 1700s. Another crucial discovery is that they might have just found a 'glaring' anomaly at a depth of around 60 feet, located in the uplands. They find a peculiar geyser that squirts up water. What could that mean?
This causes much excitement among the team and there is a sense of certainty that they are closing in on the flood tunnels. However, their enthusiasm turns to disappointment quickly, as the flood tunnel does exactly what it was supposed to do, frustrate the efforts of the treasure hunters. The pit caves in. Ouch!
Apart from this, the team believes that the 'eye of the swamp' holds a lot of answers but that is nothing quite new as they have been saying that for several episodes. They find a piece of lead and there is more speculation whether it is connected to the lead cross they found earlier. With more effort, they find several boulders and they are unsure whether its placement was instigated by nature or man.
More lead, rocks, digging and not many answers.
'The Curse of Oak Island' airs on History Channel on Tuesdays at 9pm.
