'The Crown' fans, here's another reason to be excited about the third season coming next year: Tobias Menzies is playing Prince Philip, and he looks amazing in these first look photos. Netflix shared a sneak peek from the upcoming season on Twitter, on Tuesday and we must say, Tobias looks too close to the real thing.

In the shot, Menzies can be seen staring into the distance like he's looking at the sunset looking dapper in a tux and some royal accessories. His white shirt has a bow front and center, and his hair is slicked back, and he looks just about ready to rule Edinburgh. Captioned, "Ambitious," the photos drove fans into a frenzy!

The 44-year-old actor was cast to slip into the royal shoes of the Duke of Edinburgh on the show after Netflix announced that Matt Smith was leaving the show. Tobias will be playing the middle-aged version of Prince Philip, who is actually 97 now. He will continue to play Philip in season four as well. "I'm thrilled to be joining the new cast of 'The Crown' and to be working with Olivia Colman again. I look forward to becoming her 'liege man of life and limb,'" he said in a statement when the news was announced.

He's not the only one that is fresh - the next season will be seeing quite a few new faces. Set to be released sometime in 2019, it will feature an entirely new cast. Tobias joins the new cast which includes Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Marion Bailey as the Queen Mother, Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles, Erin  Doherty as Princess Anne, Ben Daniels as Lord Snowdon and Jason Watkins as Prime Minister Harold Wilson.

Speaking about the recasts, series creator Peter Morgan had said that as the characters age in the story arc, they will be switched accordingly. He had said in March earlier this year, "You can’t ask someone to act middle-aged. Someone has to bring their own fatigue to it. The feelings we all have as 50-year-olds are different than the feelings we all have as 30-year-olds," he said in an interview with Variety

Tobias has appeared in big shows like HBO's 'Game of Thrones' where he starred as Edmure Tully and 'The Night Manager' where he played the role of Geoffrey Dromgoole in five episodes. He is perhaps best known for his dual role as Frank Randall and Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall in 'Outlander,' the historical time travel series based on the works of author Diana Gabaldon.

He has also starred in films like 'Casino Royale' and 'Underworld: Blood Wars.' In 2016, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries or Television Film for his work in 'Outlander.'
