'The Chi' Season 3 Episode 9: Ronnie's death leaves fans shocked, say they had just started to like him
Spoilers for 'The Chi' Season 3 Episode 9 'Lackin'
It was an episode that 'The Chi' fans would take some time to process. From Emmett (Jacob Latimore) rebranding Sonny's to finally proposing Tiffany (Hannaha Hall), Kiesha Williams' (Birgundi Baker) continued panic attacks to the Williams finally sorting things out, there was quite a bit of drama. However, the last second shocker came in the form of Ronnie's (Ntare Mwine) death that left them all absolutely devastated.

"Damn y’all killed Ronnie?!?! #TheChi" asked one of the dumbfounded fans. Sorry chap, we were just as surprised.

Ronnie's past caught up with him as he was shot in the head by one of the residents. Since the start of the season, he was not just seen as a victim of gun violence but also as a perpetrator. Season 3 saw him as a man who struggled to get his life back in order and find a sense of purpose. And just when he did by saving Kiesha from her abductor and making good with his family, he was shot dead brutally. One of the fans nailed it when she wrote, "They really made us hate this man’s character for two and a half seasons, finally convinced us to like him, then killed him #TheChi"
