'The Chi' Season 3 Episode 3: Ronnie gets beat up once again, fans say 'he's on his road to redemption'
Spoilers for 'The Chi' Season 3 Episode 3 'Buss Down'
Ronnie Davis, played by Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, is one such character who probably ends up at the receiving end more often than not. In 'Buss Down', Ronnie gets his a** handed to him after a bunch of teens take him on before he's saved by Papa's (Shamon Brown Jr) dad, Reverend Jackson (Tory Davis). The scene led to fans sympathizing with the character who has always tried to do the right things, but unfortunately, it never pans out the way he hopes for.
"Damn Ronnie just keeps getting beat down, physically & literally," a fan wrote. "He catches a bad rap all the time. #TheChi" wrote another. "Ronnie ass always in sum shìt #thechi," seconded one of the fans. "I can't say Ronny didn’t deserve that #TheChi Judge me," a fan wrote. While Ronnie can't be faulted about being near a place he regards as home and cannot forget, it's just a pity others don't look at it the same way.

"Man, why they beat the sh*t outta Ronnie? #theChi"asked one of the fans. "@SHOTheChi Ronnie's on road to redemption! #TheChi" a fan remarked. In the previous episode, Ronnie was pivotal in helping find Kiesha Williams' (Birgundi Baker) phone that Dre (Miriam A Hyman) was tracking.
Earlier, in an interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), Ntare Mwine spoke about Ronnie's storyline this season. "I think from the first season, he was really like one step forward, two steps back," he explained. "And then the second season was sort of discovering a bit more of the character and learn more about his background, his family, and the sort of ghosts that haunt him and that have held them back. And I think in this third season, we really get to see his calling so to speak. And he sort of has this North star."
