'The Chase' is an American television quiz show based on the same-named British show. Brooke Burns hosted the show, which included Mark Labbett as the "chaser." The series follows the same basic concept as the original UK edition, but with three instead of four competitors in each team. The game is a quiz show in which competitors compete for money by confronting the chaser, a quiz show expert. Each competitor takes part in a 60-second "chase" known as the Cash Builder, in which they attempt to answer as many questions as possible in 60 seconds in order to win as much money as possible to contribute to a prize fund for the team.
The player must then answer enough questions in a head-to-head competition that is scored on a gameboard to stay ahead of the chaser; otherwise, they forfeit their earnings for that round and are eliminated. The participants who finish their separate pursuits without being caught proceed to the Final Chase, where they answer questions as a team for a piece of the prize pool amassed during the show.
