Documentaries give viewers a look at the reality of the lives led by famous people, decode mysteries behind criminal cases, tried to be objective while narrating the story about some of the most interesting personalities that achieved fame and/or fortune for a variety of reasons. It could be about a country's hidden stories ('American Hidden Stories'), or a look at the everyday lives of killers ('The tapes of Ted Bundy'), or a look at a cult that has a huge number of following across the world ('Wild Wild West').  Here are some of the interesting films lined up this March

1. 'The Case Against Adnan Syed'

Oscar-nominated docu-filmmaker Amy Berg well-known for her true-crime documentary exposes has worked on 'The Case Against Adnan Syed'. This is based on the hit 'Serial' podcast that resulted in the arrest and conviction of Baltimore high school student Hae Min-lee's boyfriend's arrest after her death. It is a four-part series which concentrates on Syed seeking and then winning an appeal post 'Serial'. The HBO docu-series will premiere on March 10.

2. America's Hidden Stories

The docu-series, America's Hidden Stories consists of four episodes and each of it will speak of one famous American story. The first episode of the series aired on Smithsonian Channel was about the Salem Witch Trials that occurred between February 1692 and May 1693.  The second episode titled 'Targeting Jefferson Davis' is about the only President of the Confederate States from 1861 to 1865. The third episode titled 'Pandemic 1918' speaks about the Spanish Flu, which according to recent evidence began from the heartland of America. The last episode 'Pearl Harbor Spies' shows how the story of American servicemen being caught off guard after the attack might not be entirely true.

3. I am Richard Pryor

This documentary is about the famous comedian Richard Pryor, which explores his life and artform. It features interviews with close friends, collaborators and family. The documentary will be aired on TV on March 15. Sandra Bernhard, Mike Epps, Lily Tomlin, Tiffany Haddish, Howie Mandel are some of the people who have taken part in the docu-series.


4. 'The Bush Years'

'The Bush Years' is six-part CNN documentary about the Bush family which gave America two of its presidents. The series is aired on Sundays at 9 pm. The documentary features how the Bushes emerged as a powerful political dynasty and the roles played by George W Bush and his father George HW Bush in shaping the future of the country.

5. 'Uncovered: The Cult of Yahweh Ben Yahweh'

This documentary is a two-hour special that portrays how Hulon Mitchell Jr., aka Yahweh Ben Yahweh, who founded Nation of Yahweh 1979, wanted to improve the drug-riddled neighborhoods in Miami. However, his methods and his controversial leadership turned his organization into a cult. He manipulated thousands of people until his arrest in 1990 and the documentary captures his rise and fall with inputs from current and former members of his cult.
