‘The Boys’ Season 2 Finale: Fans appreciate easily missed details like Stormfront’s ‘ties to Epstein death’
'The Boys' is not only enjoyed for its in your face violence and dark humor, but also the attention to detail that the makers have when it comes to each scene and each episode. Take for instance, the finale episode where Stormfront's (Aya Cash) ties to Hitler are outed in the media. Her pictures of sitting with the Nazi leader, her pictures as a bride right next to Frederich Vought with the Nazi symbol in the background among other things were flashed in TV channels with a ticker at the end running about a plausible connection between Stormfront and Jeffery Epstein. The ticker reads "NYPD: Credible lead ties Stormfront to Jeffery Epstein death."
This screenshot was shared on Reddit and the fan captioned it, "It's little details like these that make The Boys even funnier, darker, and better." Many others commented on how they had missed this detail but were happy that it was caught. One fan responded, "I knew he (Epstein) didn’t kill himself! It makes so much sense now!"
Appreciation for such details included, "I swear this is pure gold," and "Holy sh*t that’s dope." Then fans also shared how Stormfront might not be mentally stable at the moment, considering how she had mistaken Homelander (Antony Starr) for her husband Vought and asked him if he remembered the trip that they had taken with their daughter Chloe. While she speaks in German, a fan was kind enough to share the translation and wrote, "My German isn't perfect, and given it fades into the background and wasn't subtitled, I don't think it was important. Here's from the beginning to it fading out, though: [short sentence I didn't understand]. Chloe had her arms stretched out the car window. We'd found the perfect place by the river under an apple tree. It was the first time that Chloe [fades into background]."
This kind of attention to detail by one fan resulted in other fans sharing the little details that they had noticed and had come to love about the show. This one fan wrote, "I liked the detail when Stormfront introduces herself to the boys on her Livestream somebody in her comments, is just like 'anybody else lagging?'"
Another detail that one other fan noticed and appreciated was the Trigger Warning that came not before, but after the footage of heads blowing up were displayed on the news channel. This fan wrote, "I like the Trigger Warning: Decapitation in the news story. It played after they show someone's head explode."
All episodes of 'The Boys' Season 1 and Season 2 can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
