Exo's Chanyeol in 'The Box': Live stream, release date, plot, cast, teaser and all about K-pop star's parting gift starring Cho Dol Hwan

‘The Box’ revolves around the story of a singer ‘busker Ji Hoon, who is living inside a box' and a producer who once used to be a big shot in the music industry

EXO Chanyeol has a parting gift to EXO-Ls before the big hiatus due to enlistment and fans are hyped to witness the globally popular K-pop star in a Jukebox musical where Chanyeol will be enacting the role of an aspiring musician. ‘The Box’ will also be the EXO star’s first Korean movie and what better movie to choose than the one where he gets to flex those heavenly vocal cords with stripped-down Acoustics of some really popular tracks.

Along with Chanyeol, critically acclaimed actor Cho Dal Hwan will play the role of washed-up musician-producer Min Soo whose dream is to just hit ‘big’ once. Prior to the premiere of the movie, plot, cast, teaser, all the reasons to get hooked to the movie.

Plot

‘The Box’ revolves around the story of a singer ‘busker Ji Hoon, who is living inside a box” and a producer who once used to be a big shot in the music industry. The two will cross their paths and bask on a journey of self-revelation, chasing dreams and figuring out life as it goes. Bonus? The movie will feature a number of global hit tracks in EXO Chnayeol’s voice, one of which has been teased in the trailer where Chanyeol sings Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’.

Cast

Chanyeol

Park Chan-yeol, SM Entertainment’s rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor, the 28-year-old powerhouse of talents debuted with EXO in 2012 and there has been no looking back. The rapper has acted in ‘Salut D’Amor’ and ‘So, I Married an Anti-fan’ in 2016. He also played the lead role in television series ‘Secret Queen Makers’. Chanyeol embarked on his first Korean movie project with ‘The Box’.

Cho Dal Hwan

‘Fantasy Tower’ famed  Cho Dal Hwan, also pronounced as Jo Dal-Hwan has acted in over twenty films and television series including ‘’The Chase’, ‘Broker’, ‘What Happened to Mr. Cha’ and more. Here, the 40-year-old will be playing the character of worn-out music producer Min Soo who once had big dreams.

Creator

The executive producer of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, Yang Jung Woong is directing the musical.

'The Box' will premiere on March 24.
