'The Bold Type' Season 4 Episode 4 Preview: Kat prepares to expose the city's sexist take on women's desires

Aren't we all tired of sexist double standards? It is 2020 and people need to catch up already. In the upcoming episode of 'The Bold Type', Kat Edison (Aisha Dee) has taken it upon herself to fight for a cause and boy, are we here for it.
From the looks of a promo released by the network for the episode, a female-oriented sex toy brand was called out for putting up "profane" advertisements around town. The toy makers drew flack for apparently being too profane- their advertisements featured a vibrator. At the same time, advertisements for erectile dysfunction medication (called 'Rect') are all over town - "the one with the corn on the cob shaped like a penis," which by all standards is vulgar.
So why can't there be advertisements featuring a small purple vibrator? It is high time that women talk about themselves as sexual beings. Pulling the ad down is a sexist double standard that must be called out, tackled and overcome. The question is how will Kat manage to do that by herself? In the promo video, she is confident that this is the kind of situation that Scarlet Magazine can ameliorate. And rightly so. If Scarlet points out the double standard, there are chances that the ads could continue being on billboards.
Fans of the show are completely onboard with this. "What an interesting topic to discuss in this episode," noted a fan. "Such an interesting topic this reminds of Kat in season 1," concurred another. It will be exciting to see what Kat has planned to take down sexism. The promo ends with the duo making tweets to tackle the sexism. How will they?
